Caring for your McLean & Co.
McLean & Co. textiles are an investment, to be treasured, and worn or used for years to come, and even longer if treated with care.
Every McLean & Co. item comes with care instructions attached, but it may be helpful to read the following:
Avoid sharp objects which may snag your McLean & Co. However, if this happens, a thread can easily be stitched back in place. Sometimes just by simply stretching the material around the edge of the snag, it is possible to return the loose thread to its rightful place.
Washing –Most of our textiles and products can be machine washed on a gentle wool wash cycle, using an eco-friendly wool wash, then dried flat away from direct sunshine.
For our very fine merino, which is not chemically shrink resist treated, we recommend you soak for 20 minutes in lukewarm water using a small volume of eco-friendly wool wash, then squeeze the water out gently and lay flat to dry away from direct sunshine.
All our products may be steam pressed with your iron, but DO NOT TUMBLE DRY!!
Pilling – Our products are unlikely to pill, but some yarns just do and there is no way of knowing before it happens. If some pilling occurs, it can be removed by using a battery operated depiller. A light steam press will further rejuvenate your McLean & Co.
