Make a statement with our limited edition Harlech Houndstooth in black and pale silver - a classic, yet contemporary pattern and colour way you can use formally or casually - however your fashion or interior design mood takes you.
This beautifully soft, durable fabric is woven using locally sourced New Zealand Halfbred yarn (Merino/Romney cross). The yarn is dyed in New Zealand using eco-friendly metal free dyes and processes.
This houndstooth fabric was woven on our c1900 Hatterley dobby loom, one of only five we believe are left in the world, and the oldest of only two still in production.
Some images of our Harlech collection being woven on our c1895 Hattersley dobby loom.
These images show 1. the warped up black and silver stripes that form the basis of the houndstooth pattern; 2. the fabric on the dobby loom while Rod is weaving it; 3. the finished fabric being wound off the loom and over the darning frame where it is checked and darned if necessary; 4. the finished product - Harlech Houndstooth in New Zealand Halfbred wool.
As the yarn used is not chemically shrink resist treated, hand washing is always recommended.
These throws have been machine washed on a gentle wool cycle with an eco-friendly wool wash.
